Jack LOVES pumpkins!!! I'm not sure if it is the color (bright), the shape (looks like a ball), or the size (a challenge to pick up). Over the last two weeks we have been to the pumpkin patch two times: once with Grandpa and Grandma Pelham and once with Grandpa and Grandma Jensen! Jack had a blast both times. The weather was perfect for both of our trips.

The BIG chair!
"What would be the best way to pick this up???"
"Grandma, can you believe all these pumpkins?"
I would love to know what goes through that little head...
"This is soooo fun!"
There is a great photo-op with a height chart, however Jack wanted nothing to do with it! This is the BEST picture we got on the first trip!!!
We became smarter the following week! THE ART OF DISTRACTION: a pumpkin! Grandpa did a great job pulling the wagon.

It's hard to get a good picture of four people...
We actually got Jack to SIT in a chair all by himself...I'm thinking the distraction of the pumpkin helped. In the other chair pictures he tried to eat the pumpkin! I think pumpkin pie is definitely in this little guy's future!

"What's over there...more pumpkins???"
I wonder where Jack will be on the chart in 2011??

Jack Oliver turns ONE!

Our baby boy has turned one! We have NO idea where the past year went...between feedings, changing diapers, napping, and playing we lost track of time. Zack and I have enjoyed every minute of little Jack's life. 1-year stats: 22lbs, 8oz. and 30.5 in.
We had his first birthday party this weekend with some family and friends. Before people arrived Jack took a look around at all the decorations. I had a friend who took a monthly picture of her son...however I am NOT that organized but I did manage to find one picture from each month of Jack's life. I put the pictures in animal print frames! The adorable tablecloth is from my sister - it was PERFECT!
Jack's party favors were little bags of candy corn mixed with peanuts - Mmmm! My mom added a personal touch by tying a leaf to the bag.
A few goodies for our guests. The cake turned out so well - I felt bad cutting it up.
Jack wondered from person to person begging for food! Daddy gave him a caramel apple!
Zack is always up for a party with food!
Notice how the cake decorator incorporated the "smash" cake into the tree next to the giraffe.
"Cake, here I come!"
Jack and his "smash" cake!
Jack was so careful eating the frosting.
Finally I tried to feed him some cake.
He quickly got the hang of it...
Jack made sure his guests enjoyed the cake and ice cream.
"More please!"I think he had a sugar crash...
Jack enjoyed opening his gifts...I will admit he enjoyed the cards, envelopes, and bags the best! He would take his new toys and put them in the gift bags.
We LOVE the wagon. THANK YOU!
Puzzles!!!
I think the new books were for mommy and daddy! When I'm getting ready in the morning, I can hear Zack reading to Jack and I can recite the book as Zack is reading :)
Happy birthday baby boy!!

Sort of a quiet week at the Pelham household after our big trip.
Just a few pictures of our almost 1-year old! On Saturday Jack helped us put the groceries away.

One thing Jack missed while we were away: reading time with daddy!!
I've never taken Jack to the grocery store by myself but this week I HAD to pick a few things up... Jack LOVED it and was so well behaved. Look how he is sitting in the cart, so relaxed!
For the last three years we have been waiting for our night out last night. Zack and I went to hear Ravi Zacharias speak! It was AMAZING and completely worth the wait.

We have a big weekend ahead...Jack turns ONE on Saturday! This week we will be awaiting the arrival of Gramma and papa from Georgia (taking care of cousin Jensen) and Gramma and Grandpa Pelham.

Cousins, Cubbies, Carousals, and FISH!!!

Jack and I took a trip to Atlanta to celebrate sweet Jensen's 1st birthday...we had a GREAT time. Jack took big eyes full the ENTIRE trip. Jack did great on the plane ride...he slept a total of 20 minutes on the way there and 30 minutes on the way home. We were so fortunate to have very patient and understanding seat mates. Blessing: Jack and I had the seat row to ourselves for 2 out of the 4 flights! Good or Bad, Jack did inherit my like for routine...we both did very well adjusting to the time change, new routines, and an adjusted nap time. Our hosts were very gracious and met our every need - THANK YOU! When we arrived Jack had his own room stocked with diapers and wipes! His In-Style aunt bought him the cutest jacket, his own suitcase and the most adorable giraffe blanket.
Playtime was one of Jack's favorite things...Jensen had wonderful toys and Jack made sure he played with each one of them. Here are the cousins, they are the same height and weight!
Jack played...
and played...
and played...
and played...
and played...
The birthday party was a blast: lots of people and food! Jack and I enjoyed every minute. Jack loves to watch kids and there were about 20 kids for him to watch. Here is one of my favorite pictures with my sweet Jensen. Jack and I had to borrow some Cubs attire since we only have Tigers attire!
Bring on the party!!!
We took the boys to get their pictures taken (they turned out so cute!) and while we were at the mall we rode the carousal. It was fun had by all!
We took a FUN trip to the Georgia Aquarium. Jack couldn't get enough...his little pointer must have been exhausted (and my dad's shoulders!)
Jack had fallen asleep by the time we left the parking garage!
We had a great time and can't wait to go back (with Zack)! When I got home Zack had mowed/fertilized the lawn, washed/cleaned the cars, cleaned the house and did all the laundry - Woohoo!
Nate, Brit and Jensen, Thanks for such a memorable trip!! We love you.
