Half-way there!!!

I'm starting with the baby update today since we are at 20 weeks – half-way!!! Baby P weighs about 10.5 ounces and is about 6.5 inches long from head to bottom. The book says about the size of a banana - hard to imagine! I feel great, I actually thought this process would be more dramatic, but really I have been able to carry on with my normal life. I am so blessed to feel as good as I do! We ordered the stroller and car seat today, we only have about 100 more items to order!!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend. Zack and I had a productive and relaxing weekend. We had a nice surprise visit from my cousin and her family this weekend, it was so nice to catch up…if they only lived closer. Saturday night we all got together for dinner. Can you believe I didn’t take one picture for the blog?? After they left I saw the camera sitting on the desk and shook my head, thinking I can’t believe I didn’t take ONE picture! This weekend we did lots of yard work, watched a few movies, swept out the garage (it was bad after the long winter), read some baby magazines, cleaned out some drawers/cabinets, spent time with family, organized and put away several piles (you know how you set something aside thinking, “I will get to that later”…). I just love to get things organized!!

Birthday Weekend

It’s my favorite time of the year! This weekend I mowed the lawn and had a great time. I just love the smell of freshly cut grass! It was so rejuvenating to be outside and take care of the yard. The garden is coming along great and the flowers are blooming beautifully. Zack had to spread some grass seed on parts of the yard that didn’t make it through the winter. This past weekend Zack had a little BBQ B-day party for me, we had a few friends over and Zack grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and turkey burgers for all!

Baby update: Baby P weights about 8.5 ounces and measures approx. 6 inches. This would be about the size of a large heirloom tomato. I feel great! No weird cravings or anything like that. For Mother’s day, Zack ordered me a big pillow that is recommended for expecting mothers. It is wonderful, who thinks of these things?!?! This past weekend we purchased paint for the nursery…for the next few weekends Zack has his work all lined up!!! Our next thing on the baby-to-do list is to order the crib. We found a stroller we really liked but we will have to order it since it is not available here. It’s amazing all the things a little person needs!
I think he wishes the handles were longer!!
Purple is my favorite color.
The tomatoes are staying warm.

Mother's Day 2009

Happy Mother's Day!! What a great day to celebrate how wonderful mothers are and ALL the great things they do for us. We spent Mother’s Day with my parents and grandparents. My dad made the meal and Zack provided the dessert. It was all very good. Lately I have had a craving for salad and my dad makes a mean salad!
Last night we celebrated the May birthdays - my uncle and I! My aunt made the famous family birthday cake – red velvet cake with an absolutely delicious frosting. I think there is a secret frosting recipe floating around somewhere!

Baby update: Baby P is approximately 5 1/2 inches long. That is approximately the size of a bell pepper and weighs almost 7 ounces. We had an appointment this week, things are progressing nicely and we both received a clean bill of health. In our next appointment we will have an ultrasound and find out the gender of baby P!!! Any guesses?!?!? I really have no idea, Zack thinks Baby P is a girl…we’ll see!!!
