G-O

I believe our spelling days are coming to an end...this weekend Zack and I were talking (spelling) and I said "when you G-O..." Jack immediate said "Me too!"  I said "You too what?" and Jack replied "Jack go!"  Then I asked Jack what G-O spelled and he quickly replied "GO!"
 Our sweet smiley big girl!
 Jack still loves the park.
This weekend was very special as we dedicated Fernie.  The pastor picked two special verses that corresponded with the definition of Fernie's name:  Fernanda meaning fearless and Rose meaning the beautiful flower.  His prayer for Fernie was that "she would learn to be fearless by relying on the spirit of God (2 Timothy 1:7) and as a rose emit the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Christ" (2 Corinthians 2:14).
I've been wanting to do a whole post on Fernie's name but can't seem to get it done so I will explain it here!  Fernanda is a very special family name, it's my Colombian middle name.  She may not look a bit like me but at least she has my name!!  Her middle name is also very special.  Several years ago I met one of the most beautiful people in the world.   Her heart is full of love, joy, loyalty, patience, silliness, and kindness.  And most importantly she loves the Lord.  I am so honored that I could name my daughter after my best friend.
Just for the record, Jack did very well for a 2.5 year old on stage!  He started out holding our hands...(The dress Fernie is wearing is my childhood dress!)
Then started hopping...

Daddy quickly picked him up...then he started saying "Jack down, Jack down!"  Oy!

Another highlight of the weekend:  Jack and Papa planted the garden.  Since January Jack has been asking to plant beets...not sure where he got that from but he keeps asking about beet seeds.  Finally he and Papa planted bean seeds.  Fernie and Nana watched!

Fernie also got her feet "cleaned" by Lucy!

This is so sweet!  Zack told me to come over and look at something...this is what I saw...Jack holding Fernie's hand!
Another highlight of the weekend:  FIRST PARADE OF THE YEAR!!!
Jack once again played on the grass while he patiently waited for the parade to start.  This time we remembered the soccer ball...

Nana did her best to get Jack to play with this sweet little girl...She loved playing soccer, Jack wasn't so sure.

I need to backup a bit...the afternoon of the parade Jack wanted to bring his "parade" chair outside.  He decided it would be a good place to eat his snack.

Ready for the parade to begin!

"You will NOT get MY candy!"

My favorite little parade boy!

A wonderful night of fun.  Jack was so tired, he was asleep within minutes of laying him down.

A few new toys from a garage sale, can't go wrong with a $.50 truck or...

a $1.00 lawn mower.

Fernie is getting SO big!  I've been meaning to mention most of her adorable clothes come from her precious and petite cousin.  However, Fernie wears most of her cousin's dresses as shirts!!

Monkey-See-Monkey-Do...

Daddy time.

Mat time!

Jack and I were playing baseball one morning and Jack decided Fernie should be the catcher.

The BEST place for tummy time!

Smile!

My precious little man!

Best buddies!

Fernie loves her thumb.  She doesn't favor one thumb over the other, either will do!

One morning Fernie got up EXTRA early so Zack got up with her and took her downstairs.  I'm sure she was enjoying the morning news!

Now that Jack enjoys playing with water he can't get enough.  These are my dad's rain water barrels...Jack saw my dad get water from the barrels one time and he HAD to it himself...

I can't tell you how many time he filled his watering can and carried it to the flower garden...

Jack absolutely LOVES Fernie...sometimes too much.  I need to keep an eye on him!  (I think Fernie is eyeing Jack's snack)

One morning we went outside early to help Papa with a project.  Fernie wasn't so sure about the cooler weather.

Swimming update:  We are on our last week of swimming - boo.  Jack is doing AWESOME.  Last week he floated on his back unassisted - Woohoo!

Hard to believe this week I took 400+ pictures and we don't have one picture from Mother's Day other than the dedication pictures.  I had a wonderful Mother's Day, Jack and Fernie made me a sweet card and Zack made lunch for everyone (my parents, my Aunt and Uncle and us).  Only to be to topped off with a DQ ice cream cake!  I LOVE being a mother :)
