Fall is in the air...AND I better get bloggin'!!!

This smile bring so much JOY to my heart.

And this one is full of one-liners:
C: I wonder why Dad put the baby lotion in the cupboard?
Me:  Probably because someone was playing with it when they shouldn't be...
C: I wonder who that was...maybe Furnie...
Me: NO...I think it was someone with smaller hands...
C: I bet it was satan doing bad things again...

Me:  Caroline what should we get dad for his birthday?
C: A helmet!
Me:  What?? Why??
C:  Because he is always hitting his head on things!!!

Me:  Caroline who wrote on the wall?
C: Not me...
Me: Caroline????
C:  The beaver did it!
(ever since then whenever she doesn't know who to blame things on, she says the "beaver")
Last week I asked her if the "beaver" had a name and she said "The devil"

Our month of August started out East!!!  We took a family trip to Maine with Zack's family. It would be an understatement to say the kids were a bit excited! Our first stop in Maine - a restaurant!  With a family of 6 someone is always hungry.  I took this picture because when they seated us they put us in a separate room all by ourselves...I'm not sure if we should have been pleased or offended. I think they wanted to keep the rest of their customers happy!
That afternoon we drove to meet Papa and Nana.
Evan had enough excitement for one day.
I'm pretty sure our bags came home with about 10lbs of sea glass.

Our beautiful cabin in the distance.
This one loves taking pictures...especially of herself!  And you will always see her in yellow...her FAVORITE color.
On a beautiful hike at Acadia National Park

Finally the OCEAN!!!
Cadillac Mountain - God's beautiful handiwork.
Schoodic Point - unfortunately it was raining out but we still walked around...well the older kids, Papa and Nana did!

Moonpie heaven!!!  Yep it was as big as it looks!  This was after a delicious lunch on the wharf at Corea, ME
Helping Nana sort blueberries for tomorrow's pancakes.
Even time for reading in Maine.

The cabin didn't have a highchair so baby Evan hung out with the big kids!
We took the kids on a day trip Quoddy Head in Lubec.  One of my favorite lighthouses.
The stone reads:
"Easternmost Point In The U.S.A."
We have some serious rock climbers on our hands.
The photo doesn't even do God's beauty justice.
We all took a day trip to Roque's Bluff State Park and met our cousins there. We found a little beach area for the kids to play.  Evan loves the dirt!  He was in heaven.
Silly kids!
Caroline's highlight of the trip:  "Eating blueberries without washing them!!!"
Fernanda sharing blueberries with her brother.
The ocean AGAIN!!
We had an amazing time in Maine, we hope to go back some day.
Thank you Papa and Nana for a fun week!

The rest of the summer we just "hung around"!!
Evan can't go fast enough in this car. I love his expression!
So the Sunday before school started we were driving to church and I said to Zack "If we were spontaneous people (we may be the least spontaneous people known to man), we would hop in the car this afternoon and drive to Medora".  We didn't talk about it any more and while eating lunch Zack says "Lets' do it"!!  I didn't argue...and hour later we were in the car!!
Medora 2017

Can't be in Medora without a hat...and one that lights up is even better!!!
The kids were ALL EYES!
They even went up on stage with all the kids (and without Dad!)
My beauties!
We made it home in time for the August 21, 2017 solar eclipse.
And then came the dreaded day - the First Day of School.
The kids were very excited, Mom not so much :(

Our school crew!
In September we took the kids to their first movie - Cars 3.
They thoroughly enjoyed it.

This little one keeps us on our toes. He is a silly little guy.  For the most part he is a happy guy but when he's not...watch out!!
He runs about 100 miles an hour.
He turned 18 months on October 11.
At his checkup he was 21lbs and 11oz. and 32 inches tall.
He loves to say Dada, Mama, Hi, cheese, Nana, Cee (Lucy), Tweet-tweet (bird), Da (Fernanda), and Ja (Jack). He makes some cute animal sounds Moo, Sssss, Roaaar, woof, Mow and snort (dog). And if he really wants to get my attention he says "MOM".
He loves to eat all things...except if it is on his highchair tray...
It's official, we are building a house!  Should be done early summer 2018.
I had a wonderful opportunity to chaperone Fernanda's class trip to the pumpkin patch.

She took yellow to a whole new level on this particular day!
The kids got to participate in a school wagon parade. They loved throwing the candy.

Ballet!!!

Took a quick trip by the property (it was a pretty cold day).  There is a hole in the ground!
After the preschool vision screening, we received a note from school saying Caroline should see an eye doctor...
Thankfully they had glasses that had yellow in them and who knew they sell glasses jewelry!
This sweet one turned 8 on October 9th!
We had a Lions themed party at our school's football field.
Jack is our sports man...I don't think he has met a sport he didn't like to play or watch.
He loves to play anything with a ball, watch all sports, keep track of scores and placements, follow certain players and of course is a HUGE Detroit fan!!! It was suggested that next year we take him to a Lions game...after all that work and planning it's not such a bad idea!!!

Dad the referee!

Happy Birthday Buddy - we love you more than you will even know!

Our lives continue to be busy but we do our best to enjoy every minute with the kids.  It's hard to believe how quickly the years have gone by.  All three kids are doing very well in school.  Jack and Fernanda are excellent readers. Caroline brings home about 15 paintings a week (she loves crafts).  They are also in AWANA at our church - two Sparks and one Cubbie. This fall Jack will start Chess Club. Oh and I'm sure the house project will keep us occupied as well!
