We've been enjoying summer very much! So much going on. One morning we picked Nana up to head to the fruit market, on the way home Nana thought it would be a good idea to stop for donuts...Jack agreed 110%!
I don't remember why but for some reason the kids did not nap AT ALL and this is what I found around 3:30pm. If you know Fernie at all, she does not cuddle for long. I think they both laid here for at least 15 minutes. It's sweet how Jack has his arm on Fernie.
Finally, our long awaited guests!! Nana and Papa from MI came to visit. I made the mistake of telling Jack 2 days early that we were going to the airport to pick Nana up. For the next 48 hours Jack asked when we were going to the airport!
Jack and Nana read a LOT of books!
After about a 30 minute rain shower we were ready for the 4th of July parade to begin. We sat at the beginning of the parade route this year and WOW did we get candy!
Even Frernie sat for a bit.
Nana and Papa treated us to ice cream on a hot afternoon. This was Fernie's first cone. I believe Nana and Papa were the ones to buy Jack his first cone as well!
Fernie's first ice cream cone 19 months...
Jack's first ice cream cone 18 months...
Jack showing off his basketball skills...
and tennis skills!
Fernie loves to watch the action!
I just love this picture. When Jack is serious about talking to Fernie he bends down to her level! He is asking her if she wants to play soccer with him.
Fernie decided that she should not be excluded from feeding the goats.
After church on Sunday we decided to stop by the park before lunch. It was finally a cool morning. The kids had a great time burning some energy.
Jack thought it would be fun to ride down the slide with Fernie. Still working on those lady-like manners...
This girl is SO happy!
This picture requires some explaining...sometimes I trace Jack on the sideway so he thought it would be fun to trace Fernie. For the first 10 seconds she thought it was fun but then decided to move on to something else. Jack thought differently so he is doing his best to hold her down.
